FIRST LOOK: Minion Land Sign Installed at Universal Studios Florida

An Illumination Avenue Minion Land sign has been installed near the entrance to Universal Studios Florida.

Minion Land Sign

The sign is in front of what was previously a Betty Boop store, all but confirming the store will become Minion-themed, and across from Despicable Me Minion Mayhem.

The sign is behind construction walls, but towers over the walls.

It is behind the newly repaired wait time sign.

Several Minion figures are around the sign and on its support pole.

Two of the Minions hold up a small “Illumination Avenue” sign above the larger “Minion Land” sign.

The sign and support are made to look metal and mechanical, similar to some of Gru’s and the Minions’ inventions. One of the Minions has gotten their overalls caught and hangs by the straps from the sign.

The Minions are all depicted in their iconic goggles and overalls.

Illumination’s Minion Land

New details have been announced for Illumination's Minion Land in Universal Orlando Resort.

Illumination’s Minion Land at Universal Orlando Resort will be opening this summer with a variety of new attractions and eateries for guests.

The land will take over Production Central, transforming it into Illumination Avenue with a new Minion Café (replacing the former Universal Studios’ Classic Monsters Cafe) and “other surprises inspired by popular characters from Illumination’s blockbuster franchises.”

The back of the Transformers: The Ride show building has been painted teal blue to match the new land. As seen in the above concept art, “Illumination” will be added to the wall.

The attractions will be the pre-existing Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and brand new Villain-Con Minion Blast. The façade of Despicable Me Minion Mayhem was recently refurbished.

Read more details about Villain-Con Minion Blast, which will be a moving walkway and shooting ride where Shrek 4-D once was. It won’t have a height requirement and guests will be able to track their score in the Universal Orlando Resort app.

The gift shop for Villain-Con Minion Blast will be Evil Stuff, judging by a sign installed in March. It is directly across from Despicable Me Minion Mayhem’s Super Silly Stuff shop.

In addition to Minion Café, food and beverage locations will include Freeze Ray Pops, Bake My Day, and Pop-A-Nana. At Pop-A-Nana, guests will be able to get banana-flavored popcorn and Minion-inspired popcorn buckets.

Bake My Day — which has a giant pink cupcake on its roof — will serve cupcakes, macarons, and s’mores. This venue will also feature a selection of Minion-inspired merchandise, including apparel, plush, drinkware, accessories, keychains, and more. Freeze Ray Pops will have a variety of colorful popsicles inspired by Gru, the Minions, and Vector.

Preview the Minion Café menu, including Despica-bowls, Bob’s Teddy Bear Chocolate Cream Puff, and more. Check out the Minion Café façade so far.
