Just a couple of weeks after it was announced that a new “Jurassic World” film was in development, a release date has now been announced.

The announcement came directly from the official “Jurassic World” account on Instagram, and consisted of just a single photo.
The graphic, just black and white, features the Tyrannosaurus rex graphic that is synonymous with the “Jurassic” films, along with the release date: July 2, 2025.

Announced by The Hollywood Reporter in late January, the film is currently in development with David Koepp writing the screenplay. Koepp wrote the original 1993 “Jurassic Park” film and its first sequel, “Jurassic Park: The Lost World.”
A new report from Deadline says that sources indicate David Leitch is in early talks to direct the film, which will be a completely new take on “Jurassic World.” His previously directed films include “Bullet Train” (2022), “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw” (2019), “Deadpool 2” (2018), and the first “John Wick” (2014) [uncredited].
Franchise lead actors Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are not expected to return, nor are the original trilogy’s main trio, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern.
The original “Jurassic Park” starred Neill as Dr. Alan Grant, Dern as Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcom. Goldblum reprised his role for “Jurassic Park: The Lost World,” and Neill returned for “Jurassic Park III,” where Dern also made a brief appearance.
The “Jurassic World” trilogy starred Pratt as Owen Grady and Howard as Claire Dearing. BD Wong returned as Dr. Henry Wu from “Jurassic Park” in a recurring role. The original trio returned for the third and final film in the trilogy, “Jurassic World Dominion.”
