The Holiday Who-bilation is in full swing at Universal Studios Hollywood, and the new Who-Bee Doo-Wops are crooning carols to guests at the park’s Grinchmas celebration.
Who-Bee Doo-Wops Show Debuts for Grinchmas
The new show debuted in front of the one-of-a-kind Who Christmas Tree standing in the heart of Universal Plaza.
The quartet performed the following set list:
- Merry Christmas Baby
- This Christmas
- Santa Baby
- Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
- You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch
- Shake Up Christmas / Feliz Navidad Mashup
Throughout their set, the Whos danced and performed a choreographed routine that reminded us a bit of the Celestina Warbeck backup dancers’ choreography (in a good way). The movements and pictures created by the quartet were reminiscent of the 1950s and 60s rhythm-and-blues, rock-and-roll doo-wop style their name is based on (though the background music and arrangements used felt more modern).
At several points during their set, some of the lyrics had small changes to reflect the holiday celebrated here: Grinchmas. The quartet crooned about it being “Grinchmastime” instead of Christmastime during their final number. The group also addressed The Grinch directly at his meet and greet, which was taking place adjacent to the stage.
The Grinch, of course, responded in kind to the group’s chiding with a few rude gestures of his own.
