Revenge of the Mummy Once Again Accepting Universal Express, Technical Rehearsal Signs Removed at Universal Studios Florida

Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios Florida reopened in August after a lengthy eight month refurbishment, but today the attraction is finally accepting guests utilizing Universal Express once again!

Universal Express is a park ticket add-on that guests can purchase which allows them to skip the regular line at most attractions.

When the ride reopened in August, it did so under technical rehearsals. During technical rehearsals, rides may operate intermittently throughout the day, and not all show elements may be functioning. Express Pass access is not generally offered during technical rehearsals.

We believe the attraction was in technical rehearsal for so long due to the extensive refurbishment, which involved some major changes to the ride’s systems. Attractions need to meet certain requirements to be considered fully operational, and the new piece at the launch hill likely required extra testing time to allow technicians to make adjustments. Technical rehearsals give the technicians time to deal with problems they might encounter with real guests so they can be fixed before the ride is considered fully operational. Revenge of the Mummy has broken down quite a bit even after its extended refurbishment concluded, which required more time for the maintenance team to iron out the issues.

Additionally, signage outside the attraction mentioning technical rehearsals has been removed, although the official Universal website still shows that the ride is in technical rehearsal.
