Greetings from a very rainy, stormy night here at the Universal Orlando Resort. We’ve got our umbrella and we’re ready to take on Halloween Horror Nights in the rain. Let’s see what’s new tonight!

We were hoping the rain would keep away the crowds, but it seemed pretty busy when we arrived for the start of the evening.

The scare zones were empty due to the weather. There was a lot of lightning in the area and heavy rain, so for safety, scareactors weren’t roaming the scare zones. Once the weather passes, the scareactors will be back. At least the houses are still open now!

Now would be a wise time to figure out which houses and attractions have indoor covered queues. Or just stand around and wait for the rain to stop.

This is exactly what it feels like to be out in the park tonight. This rain is no joke!

Construction walls have started to come down around Delancey Street. There’s still one small section being worked on, but the new street looks great.

Are we dreaming? After all this time, the image on the side of Rip Ride Rockit has returned. It looks so good.

More new merchandise has arrived for Halloween Horror Nights. Inside the Tribute Store, there’s a Halloween Nightmare Fuel Wildfire shirt and magnet. The magnet is part of the weekly releases for HHN, so grab it now while you can!

Everyone in the Tribute Store was grabbing one of these new Lil’ Boo crossbody bags. It’s adorable and a great accessory for the parks.

Is this a kid’s book? It’s pretty awesome!

You can find this glittering crystal mask inside the Tribute Store for $65. We tried it on and were very tempted to purchase it immediately.

This reversible bucket hat can be found in multiple stores, including the Tribute Store and the Universal Studios Store.

These new patches in the Universal Studios Store are fantastic. These would make a great gift or souvenir and are peel and stick or can be sewn on. These are perfect for jackets and backpacks. Lil’ Boo seems to be the most popular patch of the bunch.

Better late than never. A new Jurassic World: Dominion travel bottle has arrived. You can pick this up in the Universal Studios Store.

It’s John Hammond! This adorable Jurassic Park plush is also now available around the parks. He’s coming home with me!

There’s some flooding around the park and we’ve walked through a few “rivers” already. Be warned that houses sometimes can be delayed due to weather, but they will try to get them reopened as quickly as possible.

The old Virtual Line kiosk outside of Fast and Furious: Supercharged makes a great rain shelter for your family.

There’s a secret drink menu. We’ve already told you too much.

While we waited for the rain to stop, we ran into San Francisco Pastry Company to grab some treats. This place is deader than the Nettlewoods Cemetery, so we highly recommend this location if you’re looking for a quick bite without the lines. They’re only open until 11 PM, so plan accordingly. And stay tuned for our full review of these sweet treats.

Another pro tip. There are 3 bars behind Lombard’s, so be sure to creep on back there to grab a drink without the wait. There’s also plenty of seating here to relax away from the crowds.

Even though the scare zones were quiet, the houses were still open and the wait times weren’t too bad.

The house lines might move even faster than the food lines. What a wild night! We were hungry for a Haunted Horseshoe, but these lines in Gramercy Park are just too long. The food here is delicious, so it’s well worth the wait if you choose to do so. You can watch our food review of these booths below.

Revenge of the Mummy is still in technical rehearsal and sometimes you’ll find it open during HHN. It was open with a 75 minute wait. Due to the weather and lack of action in the scare zones, the rides and houses seem to be drawing in the crowds.

Universal Orlando Photo Report 9 15 22 HHN 27

The weather has started to clear up. Scareactors should begin creeping out into the scare zones soon!

Half of the door has been removed on the outhouse in Scarecrow: Cursed Soil. This could get awkward.

Universal Orlando Photo Report 9 15 22 HHN 33

He has arrived! The Pumpkin Lord has risen for the night! Now that the weather has cleared up completely, the scareactors and crowds have returned to the scare zones.

Universal Orlando Photo Report 9 15 22 HHN 34

It smells like fog and pumpkin burps.

Sahara Traders has even more new Universal Monsters merchandise. The throw blanket is beautiful.

Honeydukes Sherbet Lemon jars are buy one, get one free. These are a great souvenir. They’re plastic, so they travel easily and can be reused for other things. Grab them while you can!

It’s kinda creepy in CityWalk when everyone is still in the parks for the event. This is a great time to do some shopping in an empty store.

Construction walls are up around the small splash pad area in CityWalk.

A late night visit to the Dead Coconut Club is the perfect way to end the day. There’s even a DJ tonight!

That’s all for this visit to the Universal Orlando Resort. Thanks for joining us today for a rainy night at Halloween Horror Nights. We’ll be back again soon, so be sure to stay tuned to Universal Parks News Today for all the latest updates!
