Comic Strip Café Reopens with Refurbished Planters and New Trees at Universal’s Islands of Adventure

The Comic Strip Café has reopened with slight changes to the buildings’ exterior in the Toon Lagoon area of Universal’s Island of Adventure. Our last update noted a “Pardon our dust” sign outside the restaurant. Now, the cartoony planters have been refurbished, and new trees have been planted.

The “Pardon our dust” sign lingers, but a new coat of paint has been applied to the ground at the entrance and the brick planters.

The tall palms have been replaced with what appear to be river birch trees. The floor has been repainted with blue and white zig-zags.

Closer to the entrance, more zig-zags of purple and red appear.

The white edges are broad enough to act as seating, too.

The planters are not actually brick, but painted to look like 3-D cartoon scenery.

The bricks are painted in a palate of orange, red, and dusty purple.

The interior is the same as always.

Since Comic Strip Café reopened, we had to stop in for more of the ramen.
