The Hogwarts Express at Universal Orlando Resort remains closed for the third day in a row. It closed unexpectedly on January 17 and has not reopened.

There is an A-frame sign outside the Hogsmeade station letting guests know the attraction/transportation is unavailable.

It was a similar situation at the King’s Cross station in Universal Studios Florida.

Team Members were giving guests short tours of the station, which resembles the London Underground inside.

Though the A-frame sign says it is closed for “planned maintenance,” no planned closure was announced. When it closed for one day last year, Universal Orlando Resort warned guests far ahead of time.

  1. The unexpected extended downtime is annoying. Them lying about planned maintenance is downright horrible. Was there Sunday/Monday – it was clearly not a planned maintenance and lying to guests about it will just make them even more angry.

  2. Going this Thurs-Sunday. Really hope this gets repaired. Lots of extra money spent for park2park for our party of 5, which will go unused if it’s still down. Hope we aren’t disappointed!

    • Same here. We purchased Park to Park tickets for the sole purpose of riding the Hogwarts Express. Otherwise it only makes sense to enjoy the parks separately. I keep checking back to see if there have been any updates or announcements by Universal. It will be disappointing if still closed and frustrating that we spent $600 of our hard earned and saved money for our family of 10. Any chance Universal is reimbursing for Park to Park tickets? I’d even accept merchandise credits.😅

  3. I agree that it is bad policy not to let guests know the status of the train. We are visiting the first week in February, and the train is the most important ride for our 9 year old granddaughter. This is her first time at Universal and the Harry Potter experience. How this is handled will definitely affect whether we go back again.
