BREAKING: Tom Williams Retiring, Mark Woodbury to Become CEO of Universal Parks and Resorts in 2022

Tom Williams is retiring from his role as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Universal Parks and Resorts effective March 16, 2022. Mark Woodbury, the current Vice Chairman of Universal Parks and Resorts and President of Universal Creative, will be stepping up into the CEO position.

Woodbury will take over the position effective January 1, 2022.

The news comes from NBC Universal CEO Jeff Shell in an announcement to Universal Parks Team Members today.

Our theme parks are amazing places visited by tens of millions of people each year thanks to Tom’s leadership and the work of the Parks team,” said Shell. “Tom’s journey has been the journey of Parks itself. His leadership, vision, passion, and commitment to what Universal Parks & Resorts can be has defined our own theme park destinations as well as the entire industry.”
