Universal Studios Japan Raising Ticket Prices Starting October 9

Hot on the heels of Super Nintendo World’s grand opening and amid abysmal attendance, Universal Studios Japan in Osaka has quietly revealed that ticket prices will be increased at the park starting October 9.

Ticket prices were raised at the park back in March with the opening of Super Nintendo World to be in line with Tokyo Disney Resort’s current price scheme, introduced around the same time.

Currently, weekday tickets at Universal Studios Japan are ¥8200 ($74.66) for weekdays and ¥8700 ($79.21) for weekends. However, prices will raise starting October 9 to ¥8700 on weekdays, ¥8900 ($81.03) on weekends, the highest theme park ticket price in Japan.

Prices for the Universal Annual Studio Pass will remain the same. Annual Studio Passes currently cost ¥19800 ($180.27) for the Light tier with 70 blackout days, ¥26800 ($244.00) for the Standard tier with 20 blackout days, and ¥37800 ($344.15) for the VIP tier with no blackout days.
