It’s Annual Passholder appreciation days at Universal Orlando Resort, and that means new merchandise, special hours for passholders and new exclusive food and drink offerings. The month-and-a-half long event runs August 16 – September 30, so we thought we’d get a jump on things by diving in to one of the biggest UOAP menu items available. We stopped by Finnegan’s Bar & Grill at Universal Studios Florida today to try their new UOAP-exclusive burger.
Malloney Stack — $17.49
This burger is an absolutely massive stack of food. It consists of a premium grilled house ground beef patty, braised short rib, beer battered onion rings and ale cheese sauce, served with wedge fries.
This thing is so big. The top bun looks tiny and comical sitting atop a mountain of beef and onion rings, swimming in cheese sauce. And thankfully it is just delicious, and having this much of a good thing is a great problem to have.
We’re ashamed to say we ate the entire thing in one sitting. The burger is cooked to order and comes topped with braised short rib and onion rings, then topped with the ale cheese sauce that was heavenly and plentiful for each bite. It’s very thick and rich, and really has a savory, almost sweet taste.
The meat was tender and juicy and the rich flavor from the short rib made this much more than your typical burger. The bread was very fresh and soft, with the bottoms slightly toasted/grilled. The onion rings have a nice coating and were crispy without being over cooked. The burger comes with the lettuce, tomato, and pickle but they’re really unnecessary so we stuck with just the meat and cheese.
The wedge fries were pretty basic, honestly, but they were elevated by the left over ale cheese sauce on the plate.
In addition to the delicious burger, the service we received at Finnegan’s Bar & Grill was top notch. An all-around enjoyable experience. We highly recommend this burger, and it’s a good thing the UOAP appreciation days run until September 30 as we’ll be back again for one of these many times over.
