Universal Studios Hollywood reopened in mid-April, but some attractions have remained closed for the past month and a half. Waterworld: A Live Sea War Spectacular has now reopened with a handful of performances each afternoon.

The Waterworld cast is listed outside the theater entrance.

Plenty of guests were lining up to catch the stunt show’s first performance of the day.

Parties are physically distanced as they wait to enter the theater.

Remember, you may get wet!

While entering, you’ll get to see some detailed (and gruesome) set pieces.

Team Members directed guests into each section of the arena seating.

Seating is physically distanced using markers on the bleachers.

The blue markers indicate where people should sit. They’re long enough for three or four people in a party to share one marker.

Each marker is about six feet apart.

Time for the show to begin!

And cue the explosions.

Thankfully these fires are planned, unlike the incident that happened recently in the park overnight.

Most performers are wearing face coverings throughout the show.

World champion jet skiers take to the arena once more.

An actor bravely zip-lines across two structures.

The audience crowd overall was not bad, especially compared to normal times pre-Covid.

This actor chose the gondola to travel instead of the zip line.

Another actor is preparing for the finale scene.

And here’s the big finish: a plane comes crashing into the arena.

This is why the show reminds you about getting wet.

And down they go into the drink.

Universal Studios Hollywood reports that approximately 168,500 pyrotechnic effects are fired per year at WaterWorld, including giant fireballs rising 50 feet in the air.

Waving goodbye to another spectacular, action-packed performance.

Time to head back to dry land.
