Welcome to a busy, exciting day here at the Universal Orlando Resort. There’s a lot happening around the parks, so let’s check out what’s new today.
Jurassic World VelociCoaster is still having Passholder previews, so Jurassic Park is very busy. It’ll be interesting to see how packed it is once the ride officially opens on June 10.
It’s sunny and hot today, which is perfect weather for a water fight in Camp Jurassic. The play area recently reopened in Jurassic Park and we love to wander through and have a little fun.
It’s also a great place to relax and watch the VelociCoaster.
Over at the VelociCoaster gift shop in the Jurassic Park Discovery Center, the raptor’s toes are looking good. They had some white paint on them when the figure was first installed, but they’re looking rap-terrific now.
The metal barricades that surrounded the Jurassic Park vehicle and T-Rex have been replaced with a rope barrier. It looks much nicer now.
There’s a lot of new Jurassic Park and Jurassic World merchandise, including this new face mask. Check out more new merchandise in our post here.
There are barricades leading up to Dudley Do-Right’s Rip Saw Falls where some repairs are happening to the pavement.
We made our way over to Universal Studios Florida next and found a lot of interesting new prep around the park. A new Tribute Store is coming soon, and the frame has been set up at the entrance. We can’t wait.
We stopped into Florean Fortescue’s for a salted caramel blondie and strawberry peanut butter ice cream. It’s a very hot day, so it started melting quickly.
We’ve heard some activity behind the curtains of the old Barney Shop and now there are some planters around the area.
This orange creme slush was very refreshing after a long, hot day in the park. You can find this at the snack stand across from the The Tonight Shop.
It looks like we’ll be getting a new Summer food festival and preparations are already happening around the park. A new food booth and tables can be found in the old smoking section across from Mel’s Drive-In.
Two food trucks are now parked in the San Francisco area of the park and look like they’re almost ready to go.
Almost all the tents and booths from Mardi Gras have been taken down, but this one still remains towards the back of the park.
The U Design kiosks have added new pet magnets that can be customized. Unfortunately, there was only “Cat Dad” and no “Cat Mom”, so we hope they will add that option soon.
Thanks for joining us around the parks today. We’ll be back again soon, so stay tuned to Universal Parks News Today for more updates!
I Wonder What will Replace Barney?
