PHOTO REPORT: Universal Orlando Resort 5/4/21 (Camp Cretaceous Merchandise, “If I Ran the Zoo” Sign, VelociCoaster Passholder Previews Continue, and More)

It’s another beautiful day here at the Universal Orlando Resort. We arrived bright and early, along with a lot of other people!

The crowds getting into the parks through security were crazy for a Tuesday. The parks didn’t feel very crowded, but the security lines were packed.

Mardi Gras is over and most of the food tents are gone, but the old Trinidad/Tobago food truck from Mardi Gras has moved to a new location across from Fast and Furious Supercharged. The old Dippin’ Dots stand in this location was converted to a hot dog stand recently, but the stand has been completely removed from the area. Let’s hope this food truck start serving up some additional food options on busy days.

A retro Universal Studios Florida logo multi purpose headband is now available for $14. We found it in several locations including the Universal Studios Store and the 5 & 10.

The purple and white striped awnings were recently removed from the Barney Shop in KidZone. We could hear things happening behind the curtains, so we’ll just have to wait and see if this store reopens as something else.

VelociCoaster Annual Passholder previews are underway at Islands of Adventure. You can read more about our experience on VelociCoaster here.

Jurassic Park has been getting a lot of new merchandise lately, and now there is a new youth shirt for Camp Cretaceous. “Best Trip Ever” is written on the front along with a few dinosaurs and the Jurassic World logo. You can find this in Jurassic Outfitters for $20.

There’s also a Jurassic World Camp Cretaceaous keychain available for $12.

In Seuss Landing, “If I Ran the Zoo” has been added back to the flag at the entrance of the play area. This area recently reopened after getting refurbished, but now the name has returned to the sign.

Toon Lagoon has been getting some much needed TLC lately. We’ve noticed several areas getting repaired lately.
