2021 First Quarter Injury Report Released for Orlando Theme Parks, Includes Kilimanjaro Safaris, The Incredible Hulk, Gran Fiesta Tour, and More

The first injury report for Orlando theme parks has been released for 2021, including injuries from January to March. The injuries reported are listed below.

Walt Disney World

EPCOT

  • Gran Fiesta Tour (02/15/21): A 69-year-old female guest injured her ankle

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

  • Kilimanjaro Safaris (03/13/21): A 72-year-old female guest became ill while riding the attraction

Universal Orlando Resort

Universal’s Islands of Adventure

  • The Incredible Hulk (02/15/21): A 42-year-old female guest experienced syncope

Universal Studios Florida

  • E.T. Adventure (03/13/21): A 71-year-old female guest experienced motion sickness

As the Orlando Sentinel reports, the public does not receive many details regarding theme park injuries in Florida. For example, Universal reported in 2019 that a guest experienced “numbness” after he broke his neck on a Volcano Bay waterslide and was unable to move.

Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, and other Central Florida theme parks are required to report the most serious injuries where visitors are hurt on rides or hospitalized for 24 hours.

  1. As somebody that frequently gets motion sick on simulator rides, I find it absurd that they would report this. It makes me think there is something else to that report.
