Welcome to a chilly, overcast day here at the Universal Orlando Resort. It’s been raining off and on throughout the day, but we’re bundled up and ready to hit the parks.
Unfortunately, due to the weather, Volcano Bay will be closed this weekend. We’re looking forward to our next visit since the water park recently reopened.
Crowds around the park weren’t too bad for a Saturday, most likely due to the cooler weather.
There was still a ton of action around the Mardi Gras floats, though.
The Williams of Hollywood Prop Shop has gotten a lot of new items in this weekend! We would love to own these Halloween Horror Nights icon banners from the Tribute Store.
There’s a lot of creepy stuff around here.
If you like decorating for Christmas early, now would be a good time to get one of these festive, color trees.
A much needed sign has been added near the inflating glove machine for bulk candy.
We’ve been loving all the Mardi Gras food offerings around the park and have decided to revisit a few of them. Although we had mixed feelings about the Beef Short Rib Poutine from Canada, we decided to give it another shot today and found it to be better than we remember. It was a nice way to warm up on a cold day. Check out our review of the Canada Tasting Booth here.
The Cinematic Celebration happens on select nights, and there were several signs around the park informing guests of where to go and what time the show starts.
We made our way over to Islands of Adventure next for a little night time exploration.
We love watching the VelociCoaster testing at night. The blue lights on the vehicle zooming around the track have us excited to ride at night once it finally opens.
We also spotted what appeared to be an image of a raptor running along the track in one of the launches. Things are looking good around here now!
It’s a beautiful night and we love that the parks now open later.
That’s all for this visit to the Universal Orlando Resort. Thanks for joining us today and be sure to keep following WDWNT and Universal Parks News Today for more updates!
