Welcome to a beautiful, sunny day at the Universal Orlando Resort. After several cloudy, cooler days, the sun is shining and the temperature is rising. As we made our way through CityWalk, we spotted something new outside of the Universal Legacy Store.

Two gargoyles are now guarding the entrance of the new Universal Legacy Store. They are definitely eye-catching and entice guests to enter the store.

We made our way over to Islands of Adventure, which was very busy. The parks did not hit capacity, but it was crowded thanks to the beautiful weather.

Signs were set up directing guests towards the bypass bridge to avoid the Wizarding World crowds. Not too many people seem to utilize this bridge yet, so it’s a peaceful spot for us to get away from the crowds. And of course, watch the VelociCoaster testing!

Today is the perfect day for water rides.

We made our way over to Universal Studios Florida next and it was pretty calm. The crowds weren’t nearly as bad as we expected.

We found even more characters in Mardi Gras outfits. Scooby and Fred were missing, but Shaggy, Daphne, and Velma looked adorable in their purple, yellow, and green Mardi Gras gear.

Even Puss in Boots is decked out for the celebration. We love the feathers in his hat!

It was still pretty busy around the park, especially for food. And Diagon Alley is always packed in the afternoon.

We were eyeing the caramels at Sugarplum’s Sweet Shop in Diagon Alley. They look so good!

We made our way over to CityWalk for the evening and happened to arrive just as the parks were closing. We were swimming upstream against massive crowds exiting the parks and heading towards the parking garage.

To our surprise, Rising Star was open. They said they will be open 7 nights a week until around April 11, so we decided to stop in and check it out. There are plenty of safety measures in place and singers must wear their masks while they perform and remain 6 feet apart from other people on stage. In addition to distancing, the microphones were switched and cleaned between each performance, and the cords were wiped down as well. We thoroughly enjoyed a night out watching everyone sing on stage.

After a long night, we were excited to just sit back and relax with a drink. If you like karaoke, Rising Star is a must when you’re visiting CityWalk.

Thanks for joining us for a long day at the Universal Orlando Resort. We’ll be back again soon, so make sure you keep following for more updates!

  1. I’m excited for the VelociCoaster. Universal should really consider bringing Pokemon to the resort- either in Simpsons land or in Kid Zone possibly. Pokemon is now the highest grossing media franchise. They can also make Lost Continent a Legend of Zelda area. This way a Nintendo area is in each park

  2. What happened to the live band at Rising Star? That was the whole appeal of the club. Now it’s just another karaoke club.
