*NEW* Carnitas Arepas: Cornmeal cake pocket filled with avocado, carnitas, mayonnaise, ketchup, and cilantro – $9.25
The shredded meat in the carnitas was tender and juicy and was elevated to another level thanks to the plentiful amount of avocado. We liked the balance of flavors in this offering, and we could definitely see ourselves getting it again.
*NEW* Beef Picadillo or Pollo Arepas: Cornmeal cake pocket filled with savory beef or shredded chicken, mayonnaise ketchup, and cilantro – $9.25
The beef picadillo was amazing, we aren’t sure which is better, this or the carnitas. The beef picadillo is savory and gets a lot of flavor from the peppers and onions mixed in. You can’t go wrong with either of them, but the carnitas might get bonus points just because of the avocado.
The pollo arepas was decent but didn’t wow us. This one has the mayo ketchup and cilantro in it, which helps, but it still seemed pretty basic. There really wasn’t much flavor coming through from the meat at all, most of the flavor came from the sauce. There are better options at this booth than the pollo arepas.
*NEW* Queso Arepas: Cornmeal cake pocket filled with white shredded cheese, mayonnaise ketchup, and cilantro – $8.25
The queso arepas claim to have mayo ketchup and cilantro, but both of those items seemed to be totally missing. The only thing we could taste was mozzarella cheese. Kids and picky eaters will probably enjoy this option, but we wish there was something else going on to liven up the pocket.
*NEW* Coco Loco: 9oz. Limonada de Coco spiked with rum and tequila – $5.00
This alcoholic drink has rum and tequila and comes with a slice of lime. We could detect the coconut cream flavor as well as a hint of alcohol with each sip which helped to cut that tart lime flavor. It’s very smooth and easy to drink.
*NEW* Limonada de Coco: 9oz. Limeade sweetened with coconut cream (non-alcoholic) – $4.00
The non-alcoholic version of this drink is very sweet and tart. The coconut cream flavor doesn’t come through at all for us though. It’s drinkable but nothing we would need to get again.
