The Mardi Gras Tribute Store at Universal Studios Florida is now open and in addition to all the great merchandise, you’ll also find some sweet new treats perfect for celebrating the Mardi Gras season. The Chocolate Covered Bourbon Cake Pop sounded like an interesting option, so we decided to give it a try.

Chocolate Covered Bourbon Cake Pop – $3.49

This cake pop is the perfect size for snacking and is just $3.49. Mardi Gras themed sprinkles coat the bottle side of the pop. We cut into the thick chocolate coating to discover a dense cake center.

We had read that this was a bourbon flavored vanilla cake pop, but this is definitely a rich, chocolate center. The taste of bourbon really knocks you back, so brace yourself! It’s an extremely strong flavor that will linger long after that first bite. It’s unique, and we wanted to like it, but we just couldn’t handle the overwhelming bourbon flavor.
