Mardi Gras 2021: International Flavors of Carnaval at Universal Studios Florida has started and is going strong! Beginning today, the resort is featuring several tasting booths around the park to celebrate flavors from around the world through food and beverages. So, let’s head over to the Canada tasting booth to check out some Canadian-inspired cuisine!

• 🆕 Beef Short Rib Poutine: Crispy fries with short rib, cheese curds, and demi-glaze – $7.99
• 🆕 Nutella Doughnut: Fried sweetened dough with Nutella, sugar, and chopped hazelnuts – $6.49
• 🆕 Maple Doughnut: Fried sweetened dough with cinnamon sugar and maple syrup – $6.49

Beverages:

• 🆕 Sugar Shack Springtime Punch: 9oz. complex Canadian whiskey punch with a base of pear juice – $5.00
• 🆕 Labatt Blue: 9oz. International pilsner – $5.00

*NEW* Beef Short Rib Poutine: Crispy fries with short rib, cheese curds, and demi-glaze – $7.99

The poutine was good but the fries were a bit too soggy.

The short rib was tender and juicy. The glaze gave it a nice flavor that reminded us of beef stew.

There were tons of cheese curds, too.

Even though the fries weren’t as crispy as we’d like, everything worked well together and we would order this again.

*NEW* Nutella Doughnut: Fried sweetened dough with Nutella, sugar, and chopped hazelnuts – $6.49

This doughnut is mind-blowing. We couldn’t stop eating it!

It has a thick layer of Nutella and tons of hazelnuts on top. It’s perfectly fried for a crispy but also fluffy and airy bite.

We’re definitely going to order this again.

*NEW* Maple Doughnut: Fried sweetened dough with cinnamon sugar and maple syrup – $6.49

This doughnut is vegan and is an elephant-ear-style fried dough with cinnamon and sugar.

There’s just enough maple syrup to make it sticky and a little sweet, but it isn’t too much.

This is a nice option for vegans.

*NEW* Sugar Shack Springtime Punch: 9oz. Complex Canadian whiskey punch with a base of pear juice – $5.00

This drink reminded us a bit of the holiday drink from Lobard’s Seafood Grille. It was heavy on the sweet pear flavor, but the whiskey flavor also came through.

The cup is a little small, but it is only $5. You might want to order a second after you’re done with your first.
