Today, Nintendo revealed a massive slew of information about Super Nintendo World, the Mario-themed expansion opening February 4th, 2021 at Universal Studios Japan. Briefly shown in the video is a new toy that walks just like Mario without any batteries, called Tokotoko Mario! And now, Nintendo has released a closer look at this special item! There are actually two versions of the neat new toy, so let’s see them both!

Tokotoko Mario Pipe Set

The pipe set comes with Mario and a small pipe designed to show off our favorite mustachioed plumber. In order to make Tokotoko Mario walk, just push him forwards and he walks naturally!

The Pipe version comes with this neat stand that says Super Nintendo World, and has a spot for Mario to stand up on for display!

Tokotoko Mario Shell Set

The Shell version comes with a red shell handle on the back that’s attached to Mario. Instead of pushing the figure forwards, you can push the shell and Mario will walk forward in sync. He also holds a Super Nintendo World flag in this version. The shell can also be detached so Mario can be displayed separately.

Both of these will be on sale at 1-Up Factory in Super Nintendo World once it opens. Neither Nintendo nor Universal confirmed whether the shop or items will be available for Guests during the special lottery previews starting December 23rd. But what we can confirm is that we’ll be in Osaka for the grand opening, so be sure you stay tuned to Universal Parks News Today for the latest on Super Nintendo World and the rest of the Universal realm!
