Have you ever wondered what goes into the haunted houses you go screaming out of? Take a look behind the scenes of a haunted house at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights.
Join Universal Orlando’s Senior Director of Creative Development Mike Aiello, Senior Show Director Charles Gray, and special guest Greg Nicotero (Special Make-Up Effects Supervisor, Executive Producer and director of over 30 episodes of AMC’s The Walking Dead) as they explore a haunted house and reveal all the amazing creativity behind every scream.
You’ll walk through a haunted house and learn some of the tricks the designers employ, from special effects to simple misdirection. You’ll visit the Make-Up Lab where many of the “scareactor” masks are created. And you’ll learn other fascinating facts about the process along the way. It’s a unique peek into what makes Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights The World’s Premier Halloween Event.
In the past, I took one of the behind the scenes tours. They do that during the day and you get to see houses with the house-lights on. It was great to be able to see all the detail that you’d probably miss running in the dark with your eyes closed.
They also point out a lot of the details the guest would probably miss including old props that got a new life. In one house they had the gas pump that used to be on the dock in the Jaws attraction.
Fully impressed by the hard work the Universal team puts into these houses.
