BREAKING: Universal’s Volcano Bay Water Park Closing November 2nd, Will Remain Shuttered Until March 2021

Universal Orlando Resort has just announced that Universal’s Volcano Bay Water Park will be closing on November 2, 2020 due to expected lower demand in the cooler winter months and usual annual maintenance needs. Universal states that they will look to reopen the park on or around March 1st, 2021.

The announcement was made to Universal team members just moments ago.

Just last month, days of operation for the water park were reduced from seven days a week down to five, with the park closed to guests on Tuesday and Thursday. Walt Disney World never even reopened their water parks to guests since the COVID-19 closure earlier this year and announced that they will open one of them around the same time Volcano Bay returns on March 7, 2021.

With Volcano Bay’s closure, 3-park annual passholders have 2 choices for reimbursement. They can either receive 2 additional months on their passes or downgrade to 2-park annual passes and be reimbursed for the remainder of their ticket’s validity. Guests can visit a Guest Services location to get this done.
