Welcome to a very gray, rainy day here at the Universal Orlando Resort. It looks like the weather may have kept a few people home today, but there were still plenty of crowds making their way into the parks this morning for a taste of Halloween. We started our morning off at Universal Studios Florida and attempted to secure Virtual Line times for the two Halloween Horror Nights haunted houses.

We walked into the park to find Team Members placing the “Haunted Houses at Capacity” signage out in clear guest view. We were able to reserve Virtual Line times for the afternoon, and later modified them for a 10 AM time. You can always check the app and try to change your Virtual Line for an earlier time if they become available.

The Tribute Store line was wrapped back towards the New York Public Library, which is causing much less traffic than yesterday. The park also feels less crowded today.

Starbucks had a crazy line. Everyone needs caffeine after getting to the parks early to secure those virtual line times.

The lines were very short for the houses, and we basically walked through the maze of barricades and entered the houses in about 10 minutes.

We’re ready to check out the houses! Team Members give every guest hand sanitizer just before entering the house.

Later in the day, after the storm had passed, it seemed to quiet down a lot around the parks, and Team Members were allowing standby guests to enter the queue. We walked through both houses again, and we had steadily noticed things getting better every time. The scare actors are getting more comfortable and we’ve noticed the improvement. We’ve even gotten scares in rooms that we had walked through over the weekend and seen nothing.

The worst lines we encountered, again, were for food. Central Park Crepes and the Skeleton Bar at Cafe La Bamba both had lines before they even opened for the day. We wish we could shout a warning to anyone about to burn their money on the Mango Inferno.

Over at Islands of Adventure, things were quiet, but we still found a few guests braving the weather to trick or treat around the park. Guests 12 and under with an adult can trick or treat by seeking out merchandise locations with pumpkin decals on the door. Inside, you’ll be able to find a Team Member and get your treats. This is supposed to be a scavenger hunt, but if you don’t want to hunt for your candy, we’ve got a list of the locations here.

Plenty of lines for food over at Islands of Adventure, too.

Work continues on the new lockers for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.

The “Velocicoaster” vehicles are parked on the track and it’s a really interesting sight to see, especially with the InGen wraps.

That’s all for today. We’re soaked and ready to get out of here. Thanks for joining us around the parks today and we’ll see you again soon!
