Universal Orlando Resort Announces New Face Mask Policy for ADA Accommodations

While face coverings are still required at Universal Orlando Resort, new accommodations for guests with disabilities have been announced. In lieu of a face covering, guests with disabilities must still wear a face shield.

Inside the Guest Services Center at Universal Studios Florida, plexiglass barriers are set up to protect guests and Team Members.

Effective today, Guests who have a disability that prevents them from wearing a face covering must speak to a Guest Services Coordinator who will inform them of the alternate accommodation, which is to wear a face shield during their visit.

A white checkered wristband will be given to Guests requesting an accommodation. Please note that face shields are not permitted on certain attractions, and Guests will have to switch to a face covering for those experiences. Attraction details will be communicated to Guests during their accommodation discussion at Guest Services.

  1. Does that mean that Face Shields are only acceptable with the wrist band then? There were individuals reportedly being told by cast members that shields were acceptable by anyone. This sounds like the policy has been solidified to it being only for people with disabilities.

    • Yes! That means due to all the annoying Karen’s people with disabilities like my daughters serious breathing issue with forced oxygen up her nose and has a blood oxygen disorder will have to wear a plastic covering. Completely unconstitutional, unnecessary and utter nonsense! This infective mask rule is to please the Karen’s and that’s it!

      • Has a child with serious breathing issues and wants to take her to a huge crowded place in the middle of a pandemic that specifically affects breathing. Nothing wrong with that I guess.

  2. Well
Looks like I fudged a bullet. I just got back from universal Orlando right before ridiculous and unconstitutional mask mandate went into
Affect. My daughter and I had the mask waiver and didn’t have to wear anything. It was great! Too bad they have to ruin it with this plastic shield. How utterly ridiculous
